Submission Instructions

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should carefully read and follow the instructions for an article for EAER. Manuscripts submitted to EAER that do not follow these instructions will be returned to the authors without further review.

Preparation of Manuscript

  • Any manuscript submitted to EAER must not be currently under consideration for publication at another journal. All submitted papers must also represent original work and fully reference all works cited.
  • Manuscripts must be written in English using the Times New Roman font size 11 and should be no longer than 10,000 words in word format.
  • All manuscripts should include an abstract of 200 or fewer words and a maximum of 5 keywords and of 3 JEL codes.
  • All submissions must be accompanied by a submission form (Copyright Transfer and Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form). Author(s) should explicitly state funding sources provided for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article in the “acknowledgements” footnote.

Use of E-submission System

  • Manuscripts should be submitted via the e-submission system.
  • Any authors experiencing difficulty in submitting via the e-submission system can email their manuscript, with submission form, to eaer@kiep.go.kr.
  • The submission form on copyright transfer and conflict of interest disclosure must be completed during the submission process.
    • (Copyright Transfer) Submission of a manuscript is understood to imply that the article is original and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Copyright to all published materials belongs to the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy.
    • (Conflict of Interest Disclosure) All authors are responsible for recognizing any conflict of interest that could bias their work in the acknowledgments, disclosing all financial support and any other personal connections. Examples of potential conflicts of interest are financial support from or connections to companies, political pressure from interest groups, and academically related issues.
    • (Authorship and corresponding author) Authorship credit should be based on substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, and/or analysis and interpretation of data. EAER does not allow multiple corresponding authors for one manuscript.
  • The entire process of manuscript submission, peer-review, and resubmission to EAER proceeds through the online system.
  • The status of a submission can be checked at any time through the URL link provided in the acknowledgement email or by logging in to the site with ID and password.
  • We do not require Article Processing Charges (APCs) or any kinds of submission charge.
  • The corresponding author who takes primary responsibility for communication with the journal should be available throughout the submission, peer review, and publication process to respond to editorial queries in a timely manner.
