The East Asian Economic Review (EAER) Editorial Board takes great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Dr. Young-gui Kim, as the new Editor-in-Chief of EAER, effective October 19, 2023.

Dr. Young-gui Kim is a senior research fellow of the Department of International Trade, Investment and Economic Security at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP). His research interests encompass the area of Econometric Modelling, Regional Trade Agreement, and Economic Analysis of RTA. Dr. Kim’s research has been published in academic journals including Asian Economic Paper and Korea Review of Applied Economics. Dr. Kim holds a Ph.D. in economics from Michigan State University and earned M.A. and B.A. degrees in economics from Hanyang University.

In this momentous transition, the EAER Editorial Board also wishes to express its profound appreciation for the exemplary contributions of the former Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Sungbae An. Dr. An’s excellent work and dedication to the journal are deeply acknowledged, and the Board wishes him the best in his future pursuits.
