The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) jointly hosted the 2023 IEFS-EAER-APAEM Conference, together with the International Economics and Finance Society (IEFS) Korea Chapter and Asia-Pacific Association of Economics and Management, on December 21, 2023 at Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat in Seoul. Participants discussed major issues under the theme of “China-Korea Cooperation and Development and the Future of Globalization" at this Senventh conference.

The Vice Chairman of the Korean Financial Services Commission, Dr. Soyoung KIM, and the Vice President of Peking University, Dr. Zhiyong DONG started the conference with his opening remarks and the Vice President of Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, Dr. Chul CHUNG addressed his welcoming remarks. Congratulations remarks were extended by Kun FANG, Minister at the Chinese Embassy in Korea, and Hee-sup LEE, Secretary General at the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat. Keynote speeches were given by Professor Keun LEE (Seoul National University), Professor Yuesheng WANG (Peking University) and Professor Biliang HU (Beijing Normal University). During Session 1, led by Young-gui KIM, Editor-in-Chief at EAER, insights were shared by discussants including Zheng ZHANG, Professor at Peking University; Sungbae AN, Chief Economist at KIEP; Lan ZHANG, Professor at Shandong University; and Sung-ho CHOI, Professor at Kyonggi University. In Session 2, chaired by Dashu WANG, Professor at Peking University, discussions involved insights from Si-Joong KIM, Professor Emeritus at Sogang University; Xinyue CHEN, Vice President at the Modern Finance Research Institute of ICBC; Taek-dong YEO, Professor at Yeungnam University; and Xu JIN, President of APAEM.
